Brief:
Design the brand identity and wayfinding system for the new
Educate Together primary school in Cherrywood, Dublin.
The client emphasised the importance of creating a sense of community in the brand story. The school will also be used by many different users and the identity therefore needed to appeal to young children, teenagers, parents, teachers and the wider community. The identity should also be modern and exciting, reflective of Educate Together’s contemporary stance on the national curriculumn.
Solution:
To create a feeling of community, three characters were used throughout the identity with their varying shapes and colours being a metaphor for diversity. These characters come together to form the logo, symbolising how every individual fits in at Tully.
The characters were kept very abstract so they can appeal to the wide age range of school users.
The identity makes use of vivid colours and bold typography which is uncharacteristic of Irish primary schools and therefore reflects Educate Together’s contemporary teaching of the national curriculumn.
