Brief:
This brief, titled “A Colourful Story”, was from the ISTD 2022 student assessment.

This is an opportunity to explore and express the use, meaning and significance of one particular colour in the culture of your choice or, say, to examine how that colour is perceived in different cultures and the impact that these factors may have in communication and cultural exchange. We urge you to examine the psychological effect of colour—widely documented—and consider a fresh, possibly impactful, expression of its use. Experiment with those opportunities lever-aged from your research to develop an appropriate format and creative typographic solution that effectively communicates your chosen message to your intended audience.

Solution:
I have interpreted this brief in a modern context, investig-ating the effects of blue light on our physical well-being, mental health and behaviour.

My publication is a volume of a magazine titled ‘Explore Science’, that consists of predominantly scientific content for the general reader. This magazine is a collection of essays and scientific studies from various authors on a given topic for each volume.

This particular volume which is titled “Blue Light Revolution” investigates emerging research around the non-visual effects of blue light on the human mind and body.
